In their own words...
"I was able to see the true glory of God and the man He wants me to be."
"I'm no longer ashamed to let people know about Christ, and I actually want them to know."

Share the Glory
It was so unexpected. We went to school thinking it was going somewhere else and next thing we knew we were being sent to an emergency assembly in our gym. They told us to get out a.s.a.p. and that it had changed its path. We had no idea what was coming. We though it would just pass over. My close friends all went in the band room one last time crying and hugging because it was said that most of them wouldn’t have homes to come back to if worst happens. I tried to find the good in it all. We all departed not knowing what to expect. I went home and up my street to my grandparents. We live on higher grounds but my dad was more worried about tornados. After it mostly blew over my dad drove to go sightseeing around 8:00 am. He came back with good news, that the storm hadn’t surged and there wasn’t much wind damage in our small beloved town. I said to my mother, “The holy water must be working.” I sprayed some inside our house before we had left. Then around 2:00 we went to check it out again. We passed my house, the ditches were full but still OK, but as we went further and further down my road we couldn’t go half way because they were launching rescue boats at my Aunt Ella’s house. I couldn’t believe my eyes because we were still 2 minutes north of Erath which is on really low grown. I called all my friends and made sure they were OK. My dad talked to his buddy who had returned to his house that morning because no harm was obvious but an hour later he was being rescued. I saw my friend being rescued off of the roof on CNN. My mom, brother and I had helped for 2 weeks at a center our church set up for the people who lost things. We felt guilty because our belongings were not affected like everyone. It was a great feeling to see people smile through tears and be given hope. It hurt terribly to see those who wouldn’t take what they needed say “no” because of what reasons? It helped me so realize how much of a blessing we’ve received. It has affected each of us in so many ways. We went to help clean up the band room. The floor buckled 3 ft. and everything was messed up. Steubenville is where I want to go to get away and feel loved again.
